Kyrgyz police reshuffles may mount tensions - deputy premier.
14/9 Tass 204
BISHKEK, September 14 (Itar-Tass) - Kyrgyzstan's Deputy Prime Minister
for judicial system and law-enforcement bodies Azimbek Beknazarov said the
reshuffled in police leadership carried out by the President of the
Interim Period Rosa Otunbayeva, may mount tensions in the country.
"You don't carry out such reshuffles before the election," Azimbek
Beknazarov told a news conference on Tuesday.
He said the officials who got new jobs, had already begun to replace
their deputies, which was "not good," as it can complicate the situation
in the country. The republic's parliamentary elections are due on October
10.
On Monday, Otunbayeva replaced Prosecutor General Baitemir Ibrayev
with Kubatbek Baibolov, who was Kyrgyzstan's interior minister.
Zarylbek Rysaliyev has been appointed the republic's interior minister.
