AZERBAIJAN`S PRESIDENT RECEIVES LATVIAN FORMER PRESIDENT
Baku, September 13 (AzerTAc). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received today former President of Latvia Vaira Vike-Freiberga.
Ms. Vaira Vike-Freiberga said a lot of work had been done in Baku since she visited the city five years ago. She noted Baku had turned into a beautiful and modern city, and congratulated the Azerbaijani President on the accomplishments achieved.
President Ilham Aliyev, in turn, said large-scale projects were being carried out in Baku, as well as the regions of Azerbaijan. The Head of State pointed out a large volume of investment is made in various spheres, as well as in tourism sector in the country.
Touching upon Azerbaijan`s international relations, the President said the country attaches great importance to cooperation with the European Union.
Ms. Vaira Vike-Freiberga said she would always support the expansion of Azerbaijan-EU cooperation.
