INDUSTRIAL OUTPUT INCREASES
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In the first eight months of 2010, the total industrial output increased by MNT 157.2 billion or 15.5 per cent to MNT 1,174.5 billion (at 2005 constant prices) against the previous year.
The increase in the industrial output was mainly due to increase in main industrial products such as coal, crude oil, iron ore, fluor spar concentrate, all types of meat, milk, yogurt, ice-cream, wheat flour, alcoholic beverage, wine, beer, soft drinks, felt, sawn wood, proton exchange fuel, cement, lime, metal sleeper, solid concrete, copper, metal foundries and steel casting.
Industrial output (at 2005 constant prices), in the first eight months of 2010, showed an increase in mining of coal and lignite extraction of peat (87.4%), extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas (52.3%) and other mining and quarrying (24.7%) for the mining and quarrying sector; production of other nonmetallic mineral products (48.2%), manufacture of food products and beverages (37.0%), manufacture of wearing apparel, dressing and dyeing of fur (36.7%), manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (30.2.%), manufacture of wood and wooden products (26.1%), manufacture of rubber and plastics products (25.8%), manufacture of basic metals (25.4%), publishing, printing and reproduction of recorded media (17.8%), manufacture of coke, refined petroleum products and nuclear fuel (8.0%), manufacture of textiles (6.5%), manufacture of tobacco products (2.1%) for the manufacturing sector compared to the same period of previous year.
For the electricity, thermal energy and water supply subdivision, there was an increase in production of electricity, thermal energy, and steam (7.2%).
