INT'L SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE HAS RUN ON MONGOLIA-JAPAN TIES
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Institute of International Studies at the Academy of Sciences and Japan's "Sekiguchi" association co-organized an international scientific conference themed "Mongolia-Japan relations: past and present-20th century" September 10-11 in Ulaanbaatar.
At the conference, reports have been delivered by scholars from Japan, Russia, Germany, China and UK. Apart of them, there were scholars, researchers and experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Institute of Historical Sciences, the Institute of Linguistics and Literature, the "Ikh zasag" university, the Center of Military History at the Defense University, the Schools of Foreign Languages and Culture; and International Relations of the Mongolian State University (MSU), the School of Sociology, and the "Jugamo" association.
The joint scientific conference has discussed issues of the Mongolian-Japan historical ties in the 20th century based on historical and oral sources and involving a period of the relations--the Khalkh River battle up to establishment of the diplomatic relations.
The Mongolian and Japanese scholars have clarified many vague matters on the Mongolia-Japan relations.
