Abbott says more instability on the way

Labor's new cabinet lineup rewards the plotters who deposed Kevin Rudd as prime
minister and promises a continuation of unstable and incompetent government,
Opposition leader Tony Abbott says.
Mr Abbott issued a statement saying the ministerial reshuffle would please "the
faceless men" of Labor but would do nothing to give the people of Australian the
good government they deserved.
"The ministerial lineup announced by Julia Gillard today rewards the plotters who
executed an elected prime minister and delivers on the secret deals that were needed
to buy peace inside the Labor Party during the election campaign," the statement
said.
Mr Rudd had been removed as prime minister because the government had lost its way
and because he could not work with other people, and he was now responsible for
Australia's relations with the rest of the world.
Mr Abbott said Peter Garrett, the most incompetent minister in living memory,
remained in cabinet and was now responsible for educating Australia's children.
"Today's reshuffle promises a continuation of unstable and incompetent government,"
he said.
"It delivers for faceless men, not the Australian people."
Australian Greens Leader Bob Brown welcomed the new cabinet lineup and said he
looked forward to working with each and every one of the ministers.
"Peter Garrett should make a fine minister for education and it will be good to work
with Tony Burke on the environment and Greg Combet on climate change," he said in a
statement.
"I see Wayne Swan as giving strong continuity to the new government and I think
Penny Wong is a great choice for Finance."
