Russian, Italian prime ministers pleased with bilateral cooperation.
NOVO-OGARYOVO, September 11 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian Prime Minister
Vladimir Putin is satisfied with the state of bilateral relations between
Russia and Italy, and his Italian counterpart Silvio Berlusconi believes
that they even cannot be better than now.
"Trade between Russia and Italy is being quickly restored, and by the
end of the year we will reach the pre-crisis level, and perhaps even
surpass it," Putin said at a meeting with Berlusconi in Novo-Ogaryovo on
Friday. Putin recalled that "a number of major projects is being
implemented, particularly, those in energy, machine building, aviation,
electronics, and automobile manufacturing."
"We are pleased with the progress of trading and economic relations,"
Putin said.
He remarked he was very glad to meet with Berlusconi at the World
Political Forum in Yaroslavl and talk about bilateral relations.
Berlusconi, in turn, said that in Russia "many actions are aimed at
maintaining further movement towards democracy."
"I'm glad that I was able to meet personally with President Vladimir
Putin and President Dmitry Medvedev and to establish good relations with
them," Berlusconi said. "I was able to see for myself their wish and
desire to build a democratic Russia," he said.
"As for our relations, then they cannot be better than they are
today," said the Italian prime minister.
