SIGNATORIES TO TEHRAN CONVENTION TO MEET IN KAZAKHSTAN
Baku, September 11 (AzerTAc). The third meeting of the parties to the framework convention on protection of environment in the Caspian Sea (Tehran convention) will be held in Kazakhstan on November 24-26.
Under the convention, Caspian littoral states assumed a responsibility to prevent pollution of the Caspian and restore its environment.
The document was prepared by UN Environment Programme and Caspian nations.
The convention members met in May 2007 in Baku to discuss four draft protocols
Kazakhstan is expected to accept two of them.
