YAROSLAVL, September 10 (Itar-Tass) - Russia's President Dmitry
Medvedev and his South Korean counterpart Lee Myung-bak discuss bilateral
cooperation and preparations for the G-20 summit.
The two presidents have a meeting in the framework of the
International Political forum in Yaroslavl.
"We shall be able to exchange information on the development of our
contacts, on initiatives in the economy and on other issues, as well as on
the preparations for the G-20 summit," Medvedev said at the opening of the
meeting.
Russia and South Korea have been discussing traditionally
international and regional security, Medvedev said. He expressed
confidence that over the meeting on Friday those issues would be on the
agenda. He thanked Myung-bak for having accepted the invitation to come to
the International Political Forum in Yaroslavl.
President of the Republic of Korea, in his turn, said that he was
excited to be in Yaroslavl, when the city celebrated its 1000th
anniversary.
"Russia and the Republic of Korea have been having diplomatic
relations for 20 years," he said. "The history of our relations is short,
but we have managed to develop wide-range cooperation not only in the
political and economic spheres, but in the international arena, too," he
said.
Myung-bak said that he and his counterpart usually discussed bilateral
relations and international matters.
"Every time I feel that we truly share views on many issues," he said.
