S.BATTSETSEG BECOMES WORLD CHAMPION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A member of the state selected team for free-style wrestling and an international master of sports S.Battsetseg won a gold medal in the FILA Wrestling World Championship running in Moscow city, Russia.
S.Battsetseg competed in women's free-style wrestling in the weight category of 59 kg. She had a bye in her first round, and then defeated her rivals Tonya Lynn Verbeek from Canada, Joice Souza Da Silva (Brazil) and Ayoko Shoda (Japan). At the final round, S.Battsetseg beat Zhang Lan from China by scores of 8:0.
The 20-year old S.Battsetseg has become the first ever female wrestler of Mongolia to win a gold medal of the FILA Wrestling Championships.
