SCO Business Council Board to meet in Baikal area Thurs.

IRKUTSK, September 9 (Itar-Tass) - An enlarged session of the Board of
the Business Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is
held in the Lake Baikal area on Thursday.
Delegations of SCO member-countries -- Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China,
Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as Mongolia as observer -- are
expected to take part in the session.
Members of the business communities of SCO countries have been invited
to the session as well. Russia, in particular, is to be represented by
such companies and financial credit organizations as Bazovy Element,
Vneshekonombank, Transneft, Ilim, Mechel, RZD (Russian Railways Company),
etc., an official in the press service of the Baikal international
economic forum has told Itar-Tass.
The session is to be declared open by SCO Secretary-General Murtabek
Imanaliyev and by Dmitry Mezentsev, Chairman of the Business Council Board
and Governor of Irkutsk Region.
Participants in the session as experts are to discuss matters
concerning the forthcoming regular SCO trade-and-economic forum, which is
to be devoted to crossborder cooperation, the implementation of long-term
projects in the fields of energy, transport infrastructure, innovations,
the production and processing of raw materials, venture capital, insurance
business, and medicine.
