AZERBAIJAN WRESTLING TEAM RANKS THIRD AT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN MOSCOW
Moscow, September 8 (AzerTAc). The Azerbaijan national wrestling team took the third spot behind first-placed Russia followed by Turkey in the total medal count at the world Greco-Roman wrestling championship in Moscow.
Hasan Aliyev (60 kg) became a world champion while Vitaly Rahimov (66 kg) snatched a bronze medal.
Azerbaijani female athlete Patimat Gagomedova and male wrestler Rafig Huseynov lost to Chinese and Russian rivals respectively, failing to win a bronze medal on the third day of the tournament.
