RUSSIAN SCIENTISTS AWARDED MONGOIAN STATE PRIZES
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Pursuant to a decree of the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj, some Russian scholars were awarded Wednesday with state prizes on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Mongolia-Russia joint biological comprehensive expedition. The state prizes have been given to the Russians for significant contribution to development of biology and botanical sciences in Mongolia.
The North Star Order has been bestowed upon R.V.Kamelin, a noble member of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation and a scientific leader of the Botatical Institute and the Joint Expedition; P.D.Gunin, a lab manager of the Institute of Ecology and Evolution at the Russian Academy of Sciences and head of the Joint Expedition for Russian side; Ye.N.Savin, an advisor to the Institute of Forest of the Academy of Sciences.
The "Friendship" medal has been given to N.N.Slemnev, a senior official of the Botanical Institute, and to Yu.Yu.Dgebuadze, a noble member of the Academy of Sciences and deputy head of the Institute of Ecology and Evolution; the Honorary Medal of Labor--to Yu.N.Krasnoshekov, a scientific worker of the Institute of Forest, and T.I.Kazantseva, a scientific worker of the Botanical Institute.
