Yemen, UK talk over information cooperation

SANA'A, Sep.07 (Saba)- Information
Minister Hassan al-Lawzi met here on Tuesday with the official spokesman of the
British government
Martin Day, who is currently visiting Yemen.
The two sides discussed a number of issues concerning with promoting information
relations between Yemen and the UK.
In the meeting, al-Lawzi affirmed in this regard that Yemen looks forwards for
further strengthening of cooperation relations in the information field so as to
serve the
two counties' goals.
He presented an explanation on the media work and the great success that has been
achieved for all official media and the prestigious position occupied by the free
press
in Yemen.
Furthermore, al-Lawzi commended the positive role played by the British government
in supporting the development in Yemen, as well as the UK's central activity along
with
the government of Saudi Arabia within the Yemen Friends Group and its next two
meeting in New York and Riyadh at the foreign ministers level.
For his part, the British official confirmed keenness of his country's government
to enhance and strengthen bilateral cooperation relations with Yemen, especially in
the
information field.
He pointed that his visit, which lasts for three days, came within efforts of
Britain, Saudi Arabia and Yemen to support the development efforts in Yemen and
enhancing security
and stability in the region.
