UAE'S Ahmed bin Hasher ready to defend Olympic title
Dubai, July 28, 2008 (WAM) - Olympic champion Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Hasher Al Maktoum who earned UAE its first ever gold medal in shooting during Athens Olympic games, is gearing up to defend his title in Beijing.
Sheikh Ahmed, who arrived in Beijing yesterday, is scheduled to start training on Tuesday. "The road to the gold is not paved with roses. We expect a very stiff competition for shooting titles, but we are confident that our marksmen, led by Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Rashid al Maktoum and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Hasher Al Maktoum will achieve excellent results," said Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Chairman of the UAE ShootingAssociation.
