Yak-130 to serve as basic combat training acft of RF AF-Zelin.
NEW DELHI, September 7 (Itar-Tass) - The Yak-130 combat training plane
will be the basic training aircraft of Russia's Air Force, Alexander
Zelin, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Air Force, said here Tuesday upon
arriving in India for an official visit.
"The Yak-130 is an aircraft for advanced training of the flying
personnel. It has very good technical characteristics. This plane will be
the basic training aircraft of Russia's Air Force," Zelin emphasized. The
Yak-130 is fitted out with an onboard equipment package and control
system, which qualitatively distinguishes it from similar flying vehicles
developed in China and in Italy".
The new-generation combat training aircraft Yak-130 has been devised
at the Yakovlev combined design bureau. This is a dual-use aircraft --it
may be used as a training facility and as a light attack plane. It is
capable of carrying up to three tonnes of bombs and missiles at nine
points of outboard suspension and ensures the accomplishment of combat
tasks with high effectiveness.
The Yak-130 is universal for training purposes, for air pilots who
underwent training on it, can fly all types of fighter planes of Russian
and foreign make practically without an additional training.
The Air Force of Russia will get about ten such aircraft in 2010.
