Int`l congress of fishermen opens in Vladivostok Tue.
VLADIVOSTOK, September 7 (Itar-Tass) - The fifth International
congress of fishermen opens here on Tuesday. Its main theme is "transition
of the fishing sector of Russia to an economy of leadership and
innovations". The conference participants -- fishermen and officials --
will look for possibilities to attract investors to this sector.
The business part of the forum includes a plenary session, specialized
seminars and roundtable meetings, as well as a Pacific Future Fishery -
2010 exhibition which will demonstrate full range of products turned out
by the fishing industry enterprises, the newest technologies in the field
of catch and processing of water bioresources, shipbuilding, and main
tendencies in the sphere of education.
The congress in Vladivostok annually draws representatives of sectoral
research institutes, Federal power bodies, large fishery enterprises and
associations of Russia, as well as delegations from many countries.
More than 400 Russian delegates, as well as executives of large fish
catching and fish processing foreign companies are taking part in the
congress.
