IAEA report proves peaceful nature of Iran's n-program: MP

Tehran, Sept 7, IRNA – A parliamentarian said here on Tuesday that the recent IAEA report proves the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.

Esmail Kosari, Vice-Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Majlis, told IRNA that the new report issued by Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukia Amano has stressed the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear activities.

Amano’s report indicates that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never been pursuing production of nuclear weapons, he said, adding that Iran’s strategy has always been against production of such weapons.

Regretting that the UN nuclear watchdog has been under pressures regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear program, the MP reiterated that the agency should not be under any political pressures.

Urging the IAEA to follow fair attitudes, he said the agency should not abide by views of certain bullying powers such as the US, Britain and Israel.

Kosari emphasized that Tehran has always fulfilled all its commitments regarding the IAEA./end
