Bahraini Official: Manama-Tehran ties, excellent

Manama, Sept 7, IRNA – Bahrain’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Nazar bin-Sadeq al-Bharna said here Monday that ties between Manama and Tehran are at an excellent level.

Al-Bharna made the statement in his farewell address to the outgoing Iranian envoy Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

According to the Iranian Embassy in Bahrain, Amir-Abdollahian said in the meeting that “Ever more expansion of both countries’ ties
as well as relations with other regional countries is of great importance keeping in mind the regional and global developments.”

Amir-Abdollahian reviewed the two countries’ relations in various fields and referred to the new dimensions that have been opened for greater cooperation in political, economic and defense fields, agreeing with the Bahraini official that Iran-Bahrain relations are excellent and still improving.

He pointed out that Iran’s strategic policy is expansion of relations with every country in the world, particularly with the Arabic and regional countries, adding, “Efforts in this respect are in line with Iran’s approach and at the service of the region’s peace, stability and advancement.”

Also on Sunday night Amir-Abdollahian and the senior foreign ambassador to Bahrain, Qatar’s Ambassador Sheikh Abdollah bin-Thamir ale-Thani arranged for a farewell party at Manama’s Crown Plaza Hotel in the presence of a large number of foreign countries’ ambassadors and diplomatic missions.

The senior envoy in his address during the same meeting referred to the significant role of the ambassadors in deepening the bands of friendship among nations, reiterating that the Iranian envoy to Bahrain had during his tenure played his role perfectly well, in addition to contributing to the spirit of friendship and cooperation among the ambassadors of other countries in Bahrain.

He also appreciated and thanked the Iranian envoy's wife for her sincere efforts and active participation in the Ladies Diplomatic Association, wishing them both greater successes, advancement, and well-being for their country.

The outgoing Iranian ambassador in his Wednesday farewell meeting also met Bahrain’s Oil and Gas Minister Abdol-Hossein Mirza, who has recently visited Iran and talked with him on the outcomes of his visit.

The head of Bahrain’s National Oil and Gas Organization, who was also present at the meeting, discussed the latest developments with other Iranian officials in bilateral energy cooperation.

Abdul-Hossein Mirza thanked the Iranian officials’ warm welcome in his last week visit of Tehran, considering his trip as a positive step in bilateral cooperation in gas field./end
