UN incepts flood-affected people conditions in Hodeidah

HODEIDAH, Aug. 06 (Saba) -
Director of UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Tariq Talahimah
incepted
on Monday the conditions of flood-affected people in al-Zuhrah and al-Qanawis
districts in Hodeidah Province.
During his meeting with the Hodeidah Province Undersecretary and head of the flood
assessment damage committee Mohammed al-Fashiq, Talahimah said that the visit aimed
to
discuss the possible means to present assistance via the coordination among the
concerned bodies as well as submitting reports for urgent assistance for those
affected people.
Al-Fashiq showed the UN official the procedures taken by the committee and the
local authority including counting the affected families and presenting the basic
aid such
as foodstuffs and relief materials.
Contacts have been made with the Civil Society Organizations, development and
humanitarian societies to offer any assistance, he added.
The committee has prepared a detailed report on the assistance presented to the
affected people and what is still needed to alleviate the suffering of the flood
victims,
al-Fashiq said.
