Yemen, Saudi Arabia sign technical cooperation agreement
SANA'A, Sep.06 (Saba) -
Yemen and Saudi Arabia signed on Monday an agreement for implementing components of
training
and designing curricula for the Technical Institute Project (Polytechnic) in the
capital Sana'a.
The agreement, signed by the project's director Maqbol al-Syani and director
general of Training Services at the Saudi Technical and Vocational Training
Corporation Ibrahim
al-Shafi, stipulated that the Saudi corporation implements advisory services and
transferring expertise and knowledge to the management and staff of the institute.
The agreement, financed by the Islamic Development Bank with USD 631,990, also
concluded designing programs required for the labor market through twinning between
the corporation
and the institute, and training 15 trainees from the institute as well as preparing
and designing curricula and various workshops.
After signing the agreement, Minister of Technical Education and Vocational
Training Ibrahim Hajri noted the importance of this agreement which would
contribute to making
a qualitative leap in the field of vocational training.
He affirmed that his ministry seeks to further cooperation in future to avail from
the Saudi experience weather in the educational curricula or training curricula.
For his part, the Saudi official pointed out that he looked forward for developing
the Yemeni human resources during the coming years and providing the GCC market
with intellectual
skills.
He praised the development in the sector of technical education and vocational
training in Yemen.
