Yemen adopts new policies to uproot al-Qaeda, NSA Chief

SANA'A, Sep. 06 (Saba) -
Yemen has adopted new package of policies and procedures to encounter al-Qaeda and
to deracinate
terrorism from Yemen.
The statement was made by the Chief of National Security Agency (NSA) Ali al-Anesi
in an interview with Almethaq Weekly, where he added that the package would cover
the
media, educational, cultural, development and legal aspects in addition to the
proactive security operations to encounter terrorism in the country.
"Implementing such policies would ensure the elimination of terrorists and not to
reproduce terrorism", al-Anesi said.
The security operations in Lawdar district of Abyan governorate resulted in killing
a number of terrorists and capturing many others, he said, adding that the security
forces
are hunting the fugitives.
The successful security intelligence and operations carried out against al-Qaeda
led to the surrender of some al-Qaeda elements, the NSA chief said.
