ASTANA, September 3 (Itar-Tass) - Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov
is positive that the countries integrated in the Customs Union - Belarus,
Russia and Kazakhstan - will complete the negotiations on preparations for
the creation of Common Economic Space (CES) by the beginning of 2011. He
said so in an interview with the MIR interstate TV and radio broadcasting
company.
"The presidents of our countries set the task of preparing the
creation of CES. The negotiating group, made up of representatives of the
three countries, is holding intensive talks, and I am sure that the draft
documents will be submitted to us before January, in accordance with the
instructions of our presidents," he said.
Masimov specified that "CES means that we are entering the next stage
of integration, which includes the unification of tariffs, of some terms
of macroeconomic regulation, as well as of the access to goods, work and
services."
According to Masimov, "Kazakhstan has deep pragmatic interest in the
creation of CES." This will permit the republic to export its products
across the territory of Russia and Belarus for similar tariffs. The same
is true for Russian producers. In other words, the terms of competition
become equal for all.
"I think, this is concrete and pragmatic policy, which is
understandable for all. In the long run, all participants in the process
will stand to gain from it," Masimov said.
