Pakistan: Only collective ummah efforts can get Al-Qods back

Islamabad, Sept 4, IRNA – Pakistani political leaders on Friday called upon Muslims around the world to struggle collectively to get back the control of Al-Qods from Israel.

Talking to IRNA with a reference to the International Day of Al-Qods, they said that the day is significant for all Muslim countries due to its noble cause.

The late founder of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Rouhollah Khomeini, in August 1979 declared the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan as the Qods Day, calling for international rallies in support of Palestinians and against Israel.

Senator Lt. Gen (R)Javed Ashraf Qazi of Pakistan Muslim League-Q said that ‘the Al-Qods day reminds us that Al-Aqsa Mosque is still under the illegal occupation of Israel’.

He said that the injustice will not be able to sustain and soon Al-Aqsa Mosque will be recovered by the people of Palestine.

“It is obligation of every Muslim to help the people of Palestine in difficult time”, said Javed Ashraf Qazi.

Condemning the role of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in resolving the issue of Palestine he said that the OIC has no guts. “It is only a social club”, he opined.

“Muslims should not attach any hope to the OIC”, he suggested.

Spokesperson of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Siddiq-ul-Farooq was of the view that Israel must vacate all occupied territory of Palestine without any further delay and the status of Al-Qods must be restored to its original position.

He demanded Muslim Ummah to get united and initiate all-out efforts at political diplomatic and economic level to resolve the issue of Palestine. “Muslims should unite to strongly condemn the brutalities of Israel on Palestinians”, he added.

Siddiq-ul-Farooq said that the US and the whole of the West should respect the fundamental rights of Palestinian people.

He urged the OIC to play its due role in solving the issue of Palestine.

The political leader asked Muslims around the world to observe the International Day of Al-Qods to support the legitimate rights of Muslims of Palestine./end
