HR, UNHCR to formulate refuge law
SANA'A, July 28 (Saba) - Minister of Human RightsHuda al-Ban uncovered Sunday the ministry's intent to form a committee to formulate in coordination with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) a special law for refuge.
Al-Ban affirmed during her meeting with the representative of UNHCR Ms. Claire Bourgeois the Yemeni keenness on improving the refugees' conditions, pointing out the importance of coordinating efforts between Yemen and the organization to offer different humanity services for the growing number of refugees coming into the Yemeniterritories.
The meeting discussed the joint action plan between the ministry and the commissioner for the rest period of 2008 and the 2009 plan the ministry is to prepare in the comingtwo months.
The two officials reviewed results of the joint committee meeting formed to study the complaints and issues of refugees the ministry has received in addition to findingthe best solutions.
