ABOUT WINTER PREPARATION


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Reports were given at Wednesday's cabinet meeting by T.Badamjunai, the Minister of Foods, Agriculture and Light Industry; D.Togtokhsuren, governor of Ovorkhangai aimag; and by Ch.Erdenebaatar, governor of Khentii aimag about a realization of a governmental resolution on abolishing aftermath of the zud disaster in 2009-2010 and on a course of winter preparation in animal husbandry for 2010-2011.
The Head of the Cabinet Secretariat of Government Ch.Khurelbaatar was ordered to set up a working group comprising officials of related Ministries and organization for fixing drought rates in some aimags and to give a report on further measures to the cabinet within September of this year.
The Minister of Agriculture T.Badamjunai and the Finance Minister S.Bayartsogt were obliged to allot money to the state funds of aimags for providing people with livestock, to create an additional financing from sources of domestic and foreign projects and programs, donations, loans and assistance of foreign organizations, and to urgently organize a providing herdsmen with livestock.
Orders were also given to the Minister of Agriculture to prepare meat in accordance with orders of localities, to increase meat reserves in the city and in settlements areas, meat export, to sell breeding animals from Sukhbaatar and Khentii aimags in Gobi and central aimags.
The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy D.Zorigt took an obligation to work out a proposal on tackling a problem in financial loss of the thermal power station of Khentii aimag's Berkh village and to introduce it to the cabinet within October.
According to a report of the Agricultural Minister, summer conditions "are nice--over 50 per cent--in total od regions, drought is staying in some 10 percent of the regions".
About 35.0 million heads of livestock are expected to pass winter in 2010-2011 nationwide. The state reserve has received 25.6 thousand tons of fodder grain from the 56.8 thousand tons relief fodder grain from Russia. The remaining has been allotted to the city and aimags.
