Qods Day, turning point for manifestation of unity among Muslims
New Delhi, Sept 2, IRNA –International Qods Day is a turning point for manifestation of unity among Muslims and their support for the Palestinian nations struggle against the Zionist occupiers, said Maulana Syed Jalal Haider Naqvi Thursday in New Delhi.
In an exclusive interview with IRNA, Jalal Haider, President of Shaheed Mutahhari Society in New Delhi said: 'International Qods Day, an opportunity not only for Muslims but for the world’s independent thinkers to express their support for the Palestinian nations uprising.'
He said that Imam Khomeini (R.A.), founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran and leader of the Islamic Revolution left behind the priceless legacy of declaring the last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan as International Qods Day.
Condemning the Zionists' atrocities against innocent Palestinian people, the Indian Shia Scholar said: 'Solidarity movement with the struggle of the Palestinian people delivere prove for the wide reaching condemnation of the policies of the Zionsit Regime, US and other imperialist powers which are based on exploitation, oppression, violation of fundamental democratic and civil rights'. These policies are real cause of the conflicts and instability in the region, he added.
Calling for all-out support for the Palestinian people, Jalal said that the lofty ideals of Palestinian nation for liberation of the holy Qods and establishment of an independent Palestinian state will never vanish.
Indian people along with other Muslims and freedom-seekers around the globe will continue support for the Palestinian nation's uprising.
The last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as always been highly revered, but the decision by Imam Khomeini (R.A.), the leader of the Islamic Revolution and founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to designate it Al-Qods Day has added new significance to it.
