European Technical Support Project activities discussed

SANA'A, Sep. 01 (Saba) - Committee of the European Technical Support Project of the Public Authority for the Development of Tihama Area of Hodeidah province discussed Wednesday a report on activities and
achievements of the project .

The committee in its meeting which was led by Minister of Agriculture and
Irrigation Mansour al-Hawshabi reviewed the possibility of developing the project
during the coming
period which will serve the agricultural development in Tihama area .
The meting also dealt with the strategy goals of the project which include
rehabilitation of irrigation facilities, developing irrigation systems and
protecting villages
threatened by floods.
The cost of the project which was launched in 2007 is 9 million Euro and includes
two basic programs focused on providing irrigation services and various
agricultural fields
in the area.
