MOSCOW, September 1 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir
Putin congratulated his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Republic
Day.
In his greetings telegram on Wednesday, Putin said: "We are satisfied
with the development of Russian-Uzbek relations and mutually advantageous
cooperation in the political, trade, economic, scientific, technical,
cultural, and other fields."
"Partnership between our countries is an important factor for security
and stability in Central Asia," the Russian prime minister said.
President Dmitry Medvedev also congratulated his Uzbek colleague Islam
Karimov on the national holiday. "Over the last years the republic
achieved considerable progress in carrying out economic, public and
political reforms and strengthening international prestige," the Russian
president said in his greetings message.
The Russian-Uzbek dialogue is developing dynamically on the basis of
strategic partnership, Medvedev said. "We can state that joint
achievements in different fields and the common history unite both
countries. Our fruitful and sincere contacts have a positive impact on the
expansion of bilateral relations and the immediate and effective solution
of all problems," he said.
"I'm sure that such close cooperation will open new prospects for us
and for our fruitful cooperation, and contribute to strengthening regional
security and stability," Medvedev stressed.
