UN PRAISES AZERI GOVERNMENT`s HAITI ASSISTANCE
Baku, September 1 (AzerTAc). The United Nations thanked the Azerbaijani government for allocating $500,000 to Haiti Emergency Relief Fund.
The Azeri government provided the financial assistance to help victims of a January quake which claimed nearly 200,000 lives in Haiti.
The magnitude 7-quake affected an estimated three million people.
The Haiti Emergency Relief Fund received a total of $82 million in a financial assistance to tackle the consequences of the disaster.
