6th national report of implementing CEDA W in press conference
SANA'A, July 28 (Saba)- Deputy Chairman of the Yemeni National Women Committee Huria Mashhor presented a report on 6th national report of implementing Convention on Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDA W ).
In a press conference organized in Sana'a Sunday, Mashhor pointed out to the questions presented by the CEDA W executive committee tothe Yemeni technical team, saying that the committee asked why Yemen did not comply with convention in spite of it signed on it since 24 years ago, Mashhor said.
She added that the committee asked about the condition of the Yemeni women within laws, policies and national strategy, violence against women and children, condition of female prisoners, quota for women in diplomatic missions and granting nationality for Yemeni women who got married from foreigners and their children as well.The technical team presented draft of amendments of laws to fix age of marriage and quota system in coming parliamentary elections.AH Download this as a file
