Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia Fariz N Mehdani expressed the support on behalf of his country at his meeting with Laksono recently, the DPR Secretariat General said in its official website on Saturday night.

Fariz Mehdani further said the Palestinian people and government were very grateful to the Indonesian people and government for their continued support for Palestine.

"Special thanks go to the Indonesian parliament which always supports Palestine's struggle for an independent state," Fariz Mehdani said.

In response, Agung Laksono said to forge the existing close relations between the two nations, the DPR would invite Palestinian lawmakers to come to Indonesia particularly to attend a ceremony marking the moments prior to the proclamation of Indonesia's independence.
