ABOUT COURSE OF HARVESTING

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A specialist on land farming policy department of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry B.Odonkhuu has stated that the autumn harvesting, started last week, is running at low speed.
As of August 31, 4,019 hectares area has been cultivated with two stages, 1,056 tons of wheat has been harvested from 1,100 hectares, 9,089 tons of potatoes--from 954 hectares, and 5,689 tons of vegetables--from 570 hectares area so far.
This year, grain was sowed on 282.2 thousand hectares area, potatoes--on 13.2 thousand hectares, vegetables--on 7.1 thousand, and fodder plants--on 12.2 thousand hectares, according to B.Odonkhuu. So it is expected that 410.0 thousand tons of grain, 158.5 thousand tons of potatoes and 93.3 thousand tons of vegs will be harvested.
