SEOUL, August 31 (Itar-Tass) -- South Korea's Red Cross offers the
DPRK, which suffered from floods, an aid of ten billion wons /8.4 million
dollars/. The decision may favour the reduction of the tension around the
Korean Peninsula, press secretary of South Korea's Ministry of Unification
said on Tuesday.
The aid consists of medications and other essential goods. The DPRK
has not replied to the offer yet.
Pyongyang's positive reply may favour the inter-Korean relations,
which were spoiled by the sinking of South Korea's Cheonan corvette on
March, 26, Yonhap News Agency reports.
