Shoura Members participate in UNESCO & APA meetings

Riyadh, July 27, SPA - Shoura (Consultative) Council member Dr.

Ahmed Al Mufareh participated at the meeting of Arab Parliamentarians Forum for Education organized by UNESCO in cooperation with Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Arab League Education, Cultural and Scientific Organization ALECSO and the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf states recently held in the Lebanese capital Beirut tostrengthen parliamentary activity for six goals of Education for All.

Several important personalities attended the meeting. They include Director General of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Dr. Abdel Aziz Al-Tuwaijri; Chairman of the Education and Culture Committee in the Lebanese House of Representatives; UNESCO ambassador of Goodwill Bahia Al- Hariri; President of the Arab Forum of Parliamentarians for Education and Chairman of the Committee on Education and Culture and Information of the Tunisian House of Representatives Fuad Alkerkori; Director General of ALECSO Organization for Education, Culture and Science Dr. Mongi Busnainah, and Director of the Arab Centre for Educational Research Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf states Dr. Marzouq Al-Ghanim.

The attendees presented during the two working days numerous reports in areas of education and education of the individual andsociety in Arab countries.

The final statement of the meeting focused on the need for government support for education, and focus on the development of theeducational aspects of individuals.

Elsewhere , Shoura Council member Dr Mohammed bin Zamel Elsharif participated in the meetings of the Sub-Committee for Environmental Affairs and Global Warming and Planting Billions ofTrees throughout Asia, within the framework of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) held recently in the Syrian capital Damascus.

Dr. Sharif has delivered a speech during the meeting in which he commended the pioneering role of Saudi Arabia in the preservation of the environment, also reiterated the importance of environmentaleducation.
