KAMBAR-ATA, August 30 (Itar-Tass) -- Head of Kyrgyzstan's National
Security Service Keneshbek Duishebayev does not rule out attempts to
destabilise the situation in the country.
"Organisations of extremists and terrorists supported from the inside
may undertake attempts to destabilise the situation in the country," he
told reporters on Monday.
He is convinced not all domestic and international threats have
disappeared.
Those forces "may undertake attempts to achieve their goals over the
election campaign, but I am sure all these attempts will be a failure," he
said.
The situation in the country may become complicated before the
parliamentary elections due on October 10, he added.
"Many parties have announced their intention to take part in the
elections, and many of them claim already now that they will win,"
Duishebayev said.
Those are the forces that may aggravate the situation in the country
and may "be supported from outside," he said.
Kyrgyzstan's law enforcement authorities hope for assistance from
friendly counties.
"The CIS, CSTO and SCO have undertaken a complex of measures to
support our government," Duishebayev concluded.
