.Patriarch meets with officials from all major Russian museums.

MOSCOW, August 30 (Itar-Tass) -- Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia
Kirill met for the first time with officials from all major Russian
museums. The meeting was held at the Andronikov Monastery of the Savior on
Sunday after a service on the holiday of the main monastery church
dedicated to the Holy Image of the Savior Not Made By Hands. Culture
Minister Alexander Avdeyev participated in the meeting. He dwelt on the
plans of the Culture Ministry to cooperate with the Russian Orthodox
Church in preservation and restoration of spiritual heritage monuments.
Officials from six major Russian museums - the Moscow Kremlin, the
Russian Museum, the Tretyakov Art Gallery, the State Historical Museum,
the Museum of Oriental Art and the Central Museum of Ancient Russian
Culture and Art named after famous Russian icon painter Andrei Rublev,
which is situated at the Andronikov Monastery, took part in the meeting,
the patriarch's press service reported.
In spring 2010 the patriarch has already visited the monastery, which
celebrates its 650th anniversary this year. He praised highly the selfless
labour of museum workers to preserve ancient works of art, which are
primarily icons at the museum.
At the current meeting the patriarch expressed hope that all
disputable issues arising between the church and museums would be settled
by the committee on cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and
museums, which the Russian Synod had created on May 31. This committee was
set up in the wake of heated debates in the society over a bill envisaging
the return of religious property to religious organizations from museums.
Alongside, secular culture officials, including Director General of
the Moscow Kremlin Museums Yelena Gagarina, were included in the
patriarchal council on culture.

.Divers involve in search for crewmen from sunken tugboat.

VLADIVOSTOK, August 30 (Itar-Tass) -- Four divers get involved in the
search for sailors from the Alexei Kulakovsky tugboat that sank in the
Laptev Sea. The divers will dive from the Captain Borodkin icebreaker to
examine the tugboat that sank at the depth of 20 meters. The icebreaker
anchored at the presumed tugboat sinking site, the Vladivostok maritime
rescue coordination center reported.
The fate of five from 14 crewmen from the tugboat remains unclear. The
Alexei Kulakovsky sank overnight to August 27 on the way for help to the
fishing vessel TB-0012 in distress. During the storm 20 nautical miles
away from the Tiksi port the fishing vessel gave the SOS signals, and the
Alexei Kulakovsky and the tanker Lenaneft-2064 were dispatched in the
incident area.
For unknown reasons the tugboat was cut from the power supplies when
approaching the fishing vessel, developed a list to port and sank. The
tanker succeeded to save three tugboat crewmen - the captain and two
seamen. Then six sailors were found dead in the water on the day of
sinking, but only five dead sailors were raised aboard of the tanker. One
dead sailor dropped into the water when lifting aboard the tanker and
sank. All saved sailors and five dead sailors were brought to Tiksi.
Five tugboat crewmen not found yet may be inside the sunken tugboat,
the rescuers assumed.
