Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The government of Mongolia held its regular meeting on August 27 in Gobi desert near an area named "Gashuun khooloi" in Bayandalai soum, Omnogobi aimag.
At the beginning of the meeting the Prime Minister S.Batbold noted that the main purposes of this meeting "is to attract attention of the mass to matters on problems of the global climate change, to discuss them and find out ways of solving them". "Researchers have confirmed that various changes in global climate and natural disasters are rooting from incorrect actions of humankind," the Premier added.
The Minister of Environment and Tourism L.Gansukh introduced to the cabinet a report on climate change, its negative affects, further measures against it. He underlined that the changes of global climate have been clearly observed on Mongolia's territories, and that due to them eco-system underwent considerable changes within 40 years.
According to statistics, frequencies of natural disasters such as drought, zud, floods, torrential rain, strong winds and desertification have increased in Mongolia. Economic losses and damages due to them rose two times within 20 years, moreover, mortality of population due to accidents and heart and gastrointenstinal diseases are expected to increase.
After the reports of the Premier and the Minister of Environment, the cabinet discussed a draft updated program on climate change and decided to submit it to the State Great Khural having reflected MInisters' proposals.
The government has sent a message addressing the world community about paying attention to the serious matters created due to climate change in Mongolia and in countries over the world.
The head of the coalition government of Mongolia S.Batbold expressed a confidence that the cabinet meeting, held in a locality namely in Gobi desert, will contribute to tackling problems of the global climate change, and stated that the coalition government will fulfill the related goals.
"…climate change is a serious problem not only for the state and government, but also for every person. Thus, people may change their lifestyle and activities in the changing world and conditions," S.Batbold stressed, and pointed out that people have an opportunity to save energy by effectively regulating their consumption of energy and heating.

The International Judo Federation (IJF) updated the international ranking list of judoists by August 16 of 2010.
According to the new ranking, World champion and Olympic bronze medalist Kh.Tsagaanbaatar is in the top of men's 66 kg weight category with points of 1276. An international master of sports S.Miaragchaa has been ranked 3rd with points of 996.
The rank of Hero of Labor and Olympic champion N.Tuvshinbayar has jumped to 45th place from 94th in the weight category of men's -100 kg thanks to his winning a gold medal in the "Chingis Khaan" World Cup held in Mongolia. B.Temuulen is on the 20th place in the category of men's -100 kg.
In addition, a winner of the "World Cup" competition S.Monkhzaya has been ranked 10th place in the women's -63 kg's weight category, and international master of sports P.Lhamdegd--at 40th place in the women's -78 kg.
In accordance with the rules of the IJF, first 22 male judoists and first 18 female judoists by the IJF rankings will be qualified to take part in the London 2012 Olympic Games. Thus Mongolia's Judo Federation (MJF) considers that if the Mongolian judoists keep their rates until the Olympic year, Mongolia will be represented by a judo team with many female and male judoists.
By the way, the national team will leave for Japan September 4 to take part in the Judo World Championships to run September 9-13 in Tokyo.

Having competed in the Singapore 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games (YOG), the Mongolian team returned home Saturday, including gold and silver medalists B.Battsetseg, G.Erdenebold and O.Dolgoon. They were welcomed by J.Tsolmon, Vice Minister of Health; Ch.Naranbaatar, head of the State Committee of Physical Culture and Sports; authorities of Mongolia's Free-Style Wrestling, Gymnastics and Judo Federations, and by families and friends of the young sportspeople.
As for the final results of the YOG, our team has taken 32nd place among 204 countries winning two gold and one silver medal. O.Dolgoon won a silver medal representing the mixed NOC team, so it is not counted as won by Mongolia NOC.
The national team was headed by Kh.Badamsuren MP, a member of the Executive Board of Mongolia's National Olympic Committee (MonNOC). He called a news conference on results of competitions of the Mongolian team in the YOG and further goals. "I was full desire to confirm that a development of sports gymnastics in Mongolia has reached international level," said G.Erdenebold. The winner in girls' free-style wrestling B.Battsetseg said she had promised herself not to be defeated by her rival three times and added she is very happy to beat her opponent at the final match.
The first YOG brought together some 3,500 young sports children aged 14-18 from 204 countries. They competed for 184 package medals. Mongolia was represented by 11 boys and girls who had competed in seven events.

Five stock trades were held at Mongolia's Stock Exchange (MSE) during the week from August 23 to August 27. In overall, 527.1 thousand shares of 36 JSCs were sold totaling 270.8 million MNT trade.
Index top-20 was 11785.33 points increasing by 912.83 units, or 8.4%, against the week earlier. The total market capitalization was set at MNT 969.7 billion increasing by MNT 72.8 billion or 8.1%.
Shares of "Sharyn gol" JSC (47.3%), "Baganuur" (29.5%) and "Aduunchuluun" (18.0%) were increased, but, "Buligaar" (23.5%), "Material impex" (15.0%), and "Mongol shir" (14.6%) JSCs were decreased at the MSE. A total of 36 shares were sold. Of them, rate of 22 shares were increased, rate of eight shares were decreased, and rate of six shares were stable.
Shares of "Hermes center" JSC (204.3 thousand units), "Remikon" (133.2 thousand units) and "Khokh gan" (81.3 thousand units) JSCs were actively traded in terms of trading volume, but in terms of trading value "Sharyn gol" (MNT 163.3 million), "APU" (MNT 26.7 million) and "Baganuur" (MNT 21.2 million).
