Interior Ministry: terrorists are hunted down around the clock
SANA'A, Aug.29
(Saba)- The Interior Ministry leadership has pointed out that the terrorist elements
are tracked
down around the clock and exposed to attacks of the security forces wherever they
appear.
The leadership of the ministry said that the coward terrorist attacks that target
police and security patrols and points would not discourage the security services
from
raiding painful strikes against the terrorist elements or pursuing them wherever
they are.
It said that this kind of terrorist operations tried by al-Qaeda in Afghanistan,
Pakistan and Iraq would not work in Yemen, because honest citizens and security
forces would
be ready for them.
This terrorist method has failed a few days ago in the district of Lawdar in Abyan
province, where nearly 15 terrorist elements were killed and ten others arrested,
the
Interior Ministry leadership added.
It said that the security agencies have during the last period waged more than 70
qualitative blows on terrorism and terrorist elements of al-Qaeda killing and
wounding
dozens of them, including al-Qaeda leaders.
The Interior Ministry has urged its security forces to lift vigilance and tighten
security measures to counter any terrorist and criminal acts.
The Ministry directed its personnel to take tough security measures against
terrorist and criminal elements in some provinces of the country where terrorist
elements are
expected to carry out sabotage acts there.
These directions were renewed one day after fierce clashes took place in Abyan
between government soldiers and al-Qaeda members, killing 11 soldiers and 7
al-Qaeda members.
The Ministry said that massive hunt-down operations are underway to arrest the
perpetrators and present them to justice, emphasizing the need to strengthen the
security
measures for protecting vital facilities and security and military institutions.
