Gambaro extends lead in Brisbane

The Liberal National Party's Teresa Gambaro has extended her lead over long-time
Labor incumbent Arch Bevis in the seat of Brisbane to more than 1700 votes.
Ms Gambaro, a former Howard government MP, saw her lead grow from 1630 votes on
Sunday morning to 1719 votes by late afternoon.
With more than 51 per cent of the two-candidate preferred vote, she is tipped to end
Mr Bevis' 20-year hold on the inner-city electorate.
This would leave Labor and the coalition with 72 seats each in the House of
Representatives - fewer than the 76 needed for a majority.
That leaves four independents, a West Australian Nationals MP and a Greens MP
deciding who will form the next government.
