Azerbaijan wants to broaden relations with Russia

BAKU, August 29 (Itar-Tass) -- Azerbaijan intends to broaden relations
with Russia, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov told
reporters in Baku on Saturday.
"We intend to broaden the relations, and we hope Russia also intends
to do it," he said.
Mentioning the signing of the protocol prolonging the presence of a
Russian military base in Armenia's territory, the diplomat noted that it
was an affair of the two countries. He believes the protocol does not
change anything in principle.
Russia has a military base in Armenia for several years. It was
planned to remain there for 25 years. The protocol prolongs the presence
for 24 years more. There is no other change in principle, the diplomat
said, noting there should be no worries about it.
