Crows upset Saints, Fisher injured

St Kilda's 28-point upset loss to Adelaide on Saturday has been compounded by an
injury worry entering the AFL finals.
The Crows triumphed 9.11 (65) to 5.7 (37) at AAMI Stadium, with creative Saint
defender Sam Fisher suffering an apparent hamstring injury.
St Kilda goalsneak Stephen Milne also missed the match but is not considered
doubtful for their qualifying final against Geelong next weekend.
In a defensively-minded affair, Adelaide forwards Taylor Walker (three goals) and
teammate Kurt Tippett (two goals) producing pivotal cameos.
The Crows led by a point at quarter-time and halftime as both sides struggled for
paths through the opposition's zones - evidenced by the 3.4 to 3.3 scoreline at the
long break.
The Saints chalked up a massive 160 handballs in the opening half and onballers
Lenny Hayes, Leigh Montagna and utility Brendon Goddard all had 20 disposals - but
they had little to show for them on the scoreboard.
Adelaide, to finish between 10th and 12th and miss the finals for the first time
since 2004, similarly found scoring difficult until their 20-year-old forward Walker
broke the shackles.
Walker kicked three goals in the third quarter as the Crows established a 10-point
buffer at the last change.
After another score stalemate for the initial nine minutes of the last quarter
followed before Kurt Tippett snapped a 30m goal when awarded a free kick in a
pocket.
The Crows spearhead threaded a long bomb from a tight angle seven minutes later -
belying his earlier inaccurate goal shooting which returned three consecutive
points.
The Saints mustered just two points for the last term and will finish third, facing
Geelong in week one of the finals.
