SOIREE OF AZERBAIJANI MUSIC IN CANADA
Baku, August 28 (AzerTAc). A soiree of Azerbaijani music took place in Niagara city of Canada.
Mayor of Niagara Gary Burroughs made an opening speech. He presented honorary diplomas to chief of “Silk Road” chamber orchestra Ismayil Hacijyev and sculptor Omar Eldarov.
Azerbaijani Ambassador Shafiyev and MPs of Ontario also made speeches.
The works of great Azerbaijani composers Uzeyir Hajibayli, Gara Garayev, Hasan Rzayev, Farhad Badalbayli were performed here.
August 26 was announced as International Day of Azerbaijani mugham and the music day of the countries located in Great Silk Road.
The decision was adopted by mayor of Canadian city Niagara and leadership of annual International Niagara Music Festival.
