Second Yemen flood relief consignment arrives
ISLAMABAD, Aug. 27 (Saba)- A fresh
relief consignment by the Yemen for flood-affected people arrived at Chaklala
Airbase on Thursday.
The 30 ton aid, including medicine and vegetable oil, have arrived through three
cargo flights.
Yemeni deputy ambassador to Pakistan Abdul Rab Abubakr Bingabr said that Yemen has
pledged to donate another consignment of goods and it will arrive on August 28.
"These goods will be delivered through land transportation to the flood affected
people" he said.
The first Yemen aircraft carrying relief goods, consisting of tents, blankets and
other essential items, donated by the Yemen to their brotherly people of Pakistan
facing
the catastrophe arrived on Wednesday.
Bingabr was at the Air Base to receive and hand over the relief goods to the
Pakistani authorities.
President Ali Abdullah Saleh has expressed his desire to share the painful moment
of tragedy with their brotherly people of Pakistan at this critical situation, and
assured
his utmost assistance and cooperation, Bingabr said.
Bingabr told the authorities although this is a very small donation, not enough,
but it reflects the feelings of the Yemenis towards their Pakistani brothers.
He also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the departed souls during this flood
and prayed to Allah Almighty to give courage to their families to bear this great
loss,
and may the departed soul live in peace.
Yemen and Pakistan are having fraternal ties, and are enjoying healthy relations.
He also called upon the international community, especially the Muslim countries to
come
forward and help Pakistan to recover from this critical situation as early as possible.
