Security bodies tighten security measures on facilities in Yemen

SANA'A, Aug. 25
(Saba) - The security bodies has tightened security measures on vital facilities and
buildings
in Abyan governorate in case of any criminal and destructive acts, Interior Ministry
said Wednesday.
The security condition in the province is stable after clearing Lawdar district
from al-Qaeda terrorist elements, the Ministry said.
It added that the security bodies are able to tackle all various terrorist crimes,
which has been shown during the past few days in Lawdar district.
The security forces' victory achieved in Lawdar area against the terrorist elements
would enhance their persistence to clean the governorate entirely from such
sabotage
elements.
Interior ministry announced yesterday [Tuesday] purging Lawdar district in Abyan
province of al-Qaeda terrorists.
Deputy Interior Minister Saleh al-Zuari said that the security forces have killed
12 terrorists and injured many others, affirming that the security forces cleared
entirely
the district from the al-Qaeda elements and are currently pursuing the fugitives out
of the district.
About 12 al-Qaeda elements were reported killed in Abyan, all were Yemenis, during
security operations carried out with the security forces in the past two days, the
Interior
Ministry reported Tuesday.
