Cabinet Weekly Meeting: discusses draft laws on public health, cleanliness and environment

SANA'A, Aug. 25(Saba) - The Cabinet
discussed on Tuesday during the weekly sitting
chaired by Premier Ali Mujawar the draft laws on cleanliness and
environment health funds and public health and environment.
The two laws were presented by Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and
Security Affairs, Minister of Local Administration, Rashad al Alimi.
A decision on the two laws will be made in the next meeting.
The meeting ratified a grant agreement worth 6.6 million special
drawing rights (SDR) signed with the International Finance Corporation
for funding the institutional support
project of the Social Fund for Development.
The project aims to increase the shares of the poor families among the
beneficiaries from the cash project and contribute to building the human
capital of the beneficiaries
from the Social Fund for Development in target areas.
The grant will be allocated for three main parts: the first is special
for improving the cash program aiming to provide goods, consultancy,
training, additional operational
costs for boosting targeting, management and administrative operations
of the program through a strategy focused on fighting poverty as well as
measures for supervising and
evaluating the performance of the fund.
The second part involves preparing and presenting the beneficiary
development program through preparing a set of the best practices in
raising awareness among the beneficiaries
from the fund in three governorates and conducting surveys in the
experimental areas.
The third part involves providing goods, consultancy, training and
additional operational costs for the project support team to build the
capacity of the fund staff and
supporting coordination, execution, supervision and evaluation of the
project management.
The meeting also reviewed the note of Minister of State, Mayor of the
Secretariat Capital, over Koran memorization schools and the importance
of boosting supervision on
them and their role in serving Koran. It ordered the schools should get
licenses from the Ministry of Endowments and Guidance for their
operations.
Some reports were reviewed in the meeting including those on the
outcomes of the tenth round of the Indian Ocean Rim-Association for
Regional Cooperation (IOR-ARC), the
security situation in the country and the functional discipline in =
Ramadan.
