MONGOLIANS TO COMPETE IN WORLD UNIVERSITY CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Mongolia's university chess team will take part in the 11th World University Chess Championship 2010 to run September 5-12 in Zurich, Switzerland.
The women's team comprises B.Mongontuul, a Grand Master (GM); T.Batchimeg GM; D.Yanjindulam, an international master; and U.Lhamsuren, sports master. The male team consists of B.Gundavaa, an international master; G.Erdene, a FIDE master; sports masters G.Monkhgal, and G.Orgil.
The competition will bring together teams from 27 countries. According to the regulations, the players must be students born between January 1, 1982 and December 31, 1992. They will compete in nine games.
The Mongolian player T.Battsetseg won a bronze medal in the 3rd World University Chess Championship held 1994 in Sofia, Bulgaria. B.Ankhchimeg also has a bronze medal from the Championship that took place in 2002 in Ulaanbaatar. In addition to it, the Mongolian team took 3rd places of the competitions in 2000, 2002 and 2008.
