PLAN OF REDUCTION OF ASSOCIATED GAS IN SOCAR TO BE DISCUSSED
Baku, August 25 (AzerTAc). On August 2008, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Global Gas Flaring Reduction Partnership Organization (GGFR) of the World Bank signed an agreement on understanding.
According to the agreement, GGFR worked out a plan of reduction of associated gas in SOCAR.
On August 30, 2010, officials of SOCAR and WB Baku office to discuss this document with participation of the experts of Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) and joint ventures.
GGFR supports the efforts of oil producing countries and companies to increase the use of associated natural gas and thus reduce flaring and venting, which wastes valuable resources and damages the environment.
