RF, Japan, US border guards train anti-piracy operation in Vladivostok.
25/8 Tass 5a
VLADIVOSTOK, August 25 (Itar-Tass) -- Warships and the Coast Guard
aviation from the border guards services of Russia, Japan and the United
States were training a joint anti-piracy operation during the
international border guards service exercises "Pacific Security
Cooperation" in the Peter the Great Bay near Vladivostok on Wednesday.
Under the scenario of the naval drill the U.S. patrol ship Tetis gave
the SOS signals in the Bering Sea and headed for Vladivostok. An armed
group presumably captured the patrol ship. The coordination centre of the
Japanese Maritime Safety Agency passed to Russian and U.S. counterparts a
report about the capture of the U.S. patrol ship through the computerized
information exchange system. The U.S. Coast Guards cutter Jarvis, the
patrol ship of the Japanese Maritime Agency Echigo and the Russian border
patrol ship Oryol are supposed to search for and detain the imaginary
attackers. The border guards should train the search for the attackers,
unarm the criminal group and carry out a rescue operation.
On Tuesday, the naval border guards from China, Russia and South Korea
carried out the same drills. The exercises involved the patrol ship of the
FSB Border Guards Service Primorye, two patrol ships of the Chinese Public
Security Ministry, the patrol ship of the South Korean Naval Police Jemin
11.
After the exercises all warships will arrive in Vladivostok.
