Yemeni election must be carried out in its scheduled time, British secretary says
TAIZ, Aug. 23 (Saba) - Yemen's election has to be carried out in its scheduled time,
the
second secretary in the Political Section at the British Embassy in Yemen said here
on Sunday to the state-run 26 September Weekly.
During her introductory visit to the parties and civil society organizations
(CSOs), the British official met with head of the General People's Congress (GPC)
branch in
Taiz province and member of the Dialogue Committee Jaber Abdallah Ghablib.
The British secretary affirmed the importance of the reforms and the success of the
dialogue which have a huge significance for it includes many issues.
The two sides talked about the last developments and aims of parties from the
dialogue which reflects the parties' keenness to save the country.
"The GPC is more keen on the success of the dialogue and hopes that it will lead to
a national conference bringing together all the parties and CSOs within two
months",
Jaber said.
He also noted that the problems and issues which are to be presented in the
dialogue table have to come out with good outcomes serving the country.
The GPC head made reference to the revision phase of voters list in 2008 which the
Joint Meeting Parties (JMP) refuses to participate in.
For her part, the British secretary pointed out that the aim of her visit and
meetings are to follow up the reforms exerted by Yemen and its solutions which were
adopted
to overcome its problems.
