KAZAN, August 24 (Itar-Tass) -- Eurasian youth sport games will be
held in the Tatar capital from September 4 to 11, head of the press
service of the Ministry for Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism Yekaterina
Kosurova said on Tuesday.
"Competitions with the participation of 1,100 young athletes at the
age from 13 to 17 are devoted to the 10th anniversary of the establishment
of the Eurasian Economic Community," the ministry's spokesperson said.
According to the organizing committee of the competitions, six EurAsEC
countries - - Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and
Uzbekistan will be represented at the games. Sportsmen will compete in 14
sports. The competitions will be held at the sport complexes Olymp, Batyr,
Basket-Hall and the ice palace for 10,000 spectators Ak Bars which were
prepared for the forthcoming Universiad of 2013.
Besides, a youth fencing tournament within the framework of the
Eurasian sport games will be held in Kazan on September 6-11.
The first Eurasian sport games were held in Brest in 2007.
